About Us

Things are quiet around the rink this time of year and while we miss seeing everyone regularly, this down time is necessary for us to complete much needed maintenance and facility improvements as well as begin planning for next season. These maintenance projects are already underway and will provide volunteer opportunities in the coming months. Please see below for a maintenance schedule and sign up on our website if you are interested in helping complete any of these projects!

Spotlight

This month we would like to recognize the CIA team, without them nothing we do would be possible! This group is not only dedicated to providing a great experience for our community, but also working together and supporting one another on the good days and the bad. They have a great time together and are a great example of what a team should be!

Ice out process

Ever wondered how we get the ice out of the rink? It’s a several step process that takes several days and begins with shutting down the refrigeration system and allowing the concrete under the ice to warm up. While we wait for the ice to begin to thaw, we chip out the center logo by hand. This is a time-consuming process, but necessary to ensure that we do not damage the logo and are able to use it again next year. Once the logo is out, we bring in a skid-steer and start hauling ice outside. After the ice is gone we get to work with a pressure washer and squeegee to remove any remaining paint residue and water. We then have a clean slab ready for summer activities!

Cornhole tournament

This year we are hosting a corn hole tournament as an annual fundraiser! We want as many participants as possible. There will be food trucks, a bar service, raffle baskets and other fun fundraisers! Registration can be found on our website @centennialicearena.com. Late registration fee will start on Friday May 12th so register soon!
