Director’s Note

Ice Community,

Welcome back! It has been wonderful to see everyone back in the rink this month. We
appreciate your patience as we work to finish some of our rink projects and look
forward to showcasing the improvements during the Ice Fest, September 15-17. This is
sure to be a FUN event for our entire community and we hope that you will join us.
Information about the event can be found on our website. As we get closer to the start
of our youth season as well as the November Bond vote, I will be increasing my email
and social media communications. Many of these messages will be of importance to
the entire ice community and I ask that you take the time to read them and stay up to
date with all the exciting things happening, and ways you can help! Enjoy the last few
weeks of warm weather, and when you need a cool down, you know where to find us!

Spotlight

This month we would like to recognize Eli Nickisch. He is starting his second season working at Centennial. Eli brings a lot of laughter and fun to the CIA team. He is passionate about ice sports, and has a desire to learn and contribute in ways that will truly elevate our programs and our facility. Eli has played hockey at Centennial for many years and will be coaching the BSHS team this year. Outside of the rink he likes to play golf and he is currently attending MSUB pursuing a degree in athletic training in hopes to become a Physical Therapist. Eli brings many unique perspectives and ideas and we see massive potential in what he could do for our community. We are so grateful to have him!

Community

The ice community is a unique one. There are many different people doing different activities and it all comes together for the mutual love of ice. This season we really want to grow the ice community and grow into the community outside of ice. We do this by welcoming people through events like the Ice Fest, Spooky Skate, Skate with Santa and more. We want to take the time establish long lasting
partnerships with local organizations and business to benefit the entire Billings community! We believe our continued commitment to unifying our user groups by helping and supporting one another will aid tremendously in our efforts to build community and grow ice sports in Billings. If you are interested in helping lead these efforts, please take a look at committee seat openings and fill out an application today. Information is available on our website.
